Painting slump

I'm in a painting slump, and during times like this I try to go back through my files and look at what I've painted and sold previously. The painting above was the first seascape that I sold on eBay. I was shocked at how well it did for only being about 9 in x 12 in. This painting propelled me to continue painting and listing things on eBay.

After looking through my paintings, I've decided to start on another series of parrots. The seascapes have done well for me in the past, but I am at a point where I need to improve my skills in depicting water, waves, etc. This means more online research ... and an extra excuse to surf online is always a good thing! So, while I research seascapes I will start working on my next series of parrot watercolors. I have plenty of reference photo's to use, and I'm excited about doing this.

FORDart blog is open!

FORDart blog is now open! I've been selling my artwork on eBay for years, and have finally decided to step forward and try new ways of sharing my artwork online.

My mom has been researching blogs for quite some time, and will be opening her site soon. I'm sure that I'll post a link to hers, as soon as it is available.

I am a self-taught artist, working primarily in watercolors. My favorite subjects to paint include seascapes, florals and parrots. My aspirations are to expand my base of subjects that I am comfortable with. I would love to paint southern landscapes, and southern church architecture. As far as different artistic mediums, I want to learn more about pen and ink drawing.

This blog will be a source to share my art as I complete new peices and make them available for purchasing, and to share new artwork as I learn to paint different subjects and create using pen and ink. I will also use this blog to share my feelings as I create and celebrate my many successes and failures! My life affects my art, and my art affects my life .... so through this the FORDart blog will certainly be multi-faceted! This will also focus on my new endeavors in quilt making, and old favorites of scrapbooking and writing.

My eBay id is sunshineychelle, and it maintains a 100% positive feedback rating. My artwork is in private collections throughout the U.S., Canada and Europe.
